This endorsement is issued by the company named below which is the insurer under the policy designated above issued to the named insured and forms a part of said policy as of the effective date hereof, at the hour stated in the policy Declaration.

- **Limits of Liability:** $10,000 each person; $20,000 each accident

**Description of Insured Automobiles:**
- ☐ Any automobile owned by the principal named insured.
- ☐ Any private passenger type automobile owned by the principal named insured.
- ☐ Any automobile to which are attached Dealer's Automobile Registration Plates issued in the name of the principal named insured.
- ☐ Any automobile designated in the declarations of the policy by the letters "UM" and an automobile ownership of which is acquired during the policy period by the principal named insured as a replacement therefor.

In consideration of the payment of the premium for this endorsement and subject to all of the terms of this endorsement, the company agrees with the named insured as follows:

**Insuring Agreements**

I. **Damages for Bodily Injury Caused by Uninsured Automobiles:** The company will pay all sums which the insured or his legal representative shall be legally entitled to recover as damages from the owner or operator of an uninsured automobile because of bodily injury, including death, sustained by the insured, by reason of the ownership, maintenance, or use of such automobile, except that the liability of the company under this endorsement shall not exceed the limits of liability shown above. The company shall not be liable for any amount paid in settlement unless and until it has received written notice of the claim or suit and an offer to settle, and the insured or his legal representative shall have executed and delivered to the company a written release of all claims against the owner or operator of the uninsured automobile. II. **Definitions**

(a) **"Insured" means:**  
(i) the named insured as stated in the policy (herein also referred to as the "principal named insured") and any person designated as named insured in the schedule and, while residents of the same household, the spouse of any such named insured;  
(ii) any other person while occupying an insured automobile; and  
(iii) any person, with respect to damages for which he is entitled to recover because of bodily injury to which this endorsement applies, who is covered by paragraph (1) or (2) above.

The insurance applies separately with respect to each insured and with the application of the insurance to more than one insured shall not increase the amount of the company's liability.

(b) **"Insured automobile" means:**  
an automobile described in the schedule to which the bodily injury liability coverage of the policy applies. The term "insured automobile" does not include:  
(1) an automobile while used as a public or private livery;  
(2) an automobile while being operated by a person who is not a resident of the same household;  
(3) an automobile furnished for the regular use of the principal named insured or any resident of the same household.

(c) **"Uninsured automobile" means:**  
(1) an automobile with respect to the ownership, maintenance, or use of which there is, in at least the amounts under the financial responsibility laws applicable to the state where the automobile is registered or garaged, no bodily injury liability insurance providing coverage similar to that provided by this endorsement;  
(2) an automobile which is operated by a self-insurer within the meaning of any motor vehicle financial responsibility law of any state or country or any similar law;  
(3) an automobile which is owned by the United States, State of America, Canada, a state, a political subdivision of any government thereof, or any agency thereof;  
(4) a land motor vehicle or trailer if operated on rails or crawler-tracks or while located for use as a residence or garage and nor as a vehicle or equipment designed for use principally off public roads, except while actually moved public;  
(5) a farm type tractor or equipment designed for use principally off public roads, except while actually moved public.
